PLM / PDM
PLM and PDM systems can use the CADseek API to augment text based search with the power of shape search to create comprehensive and clutter-free results. A unique option is to add a sentry feature to evaluate every newly committed design for potential duplication.
Automated Quotations
The CADseek API can be used to score the geometric similarity customer designs to existing manufactured parts. When the similarity is sufficient, and material, finish and tolerance are a match, an automated quotation can be generated, or the CADseek API can identify similar designs to aid sales agents in making quotations.
Dashboards
Using the CADseek API allows managers to monitor the similarity of new parts being committed to the PLM or PDM, allowing alerts for duplication and accountability for part reuse initiatives.
Catalogs
Online catalogs can implement accurate "similar items" listings without needing manual matching and tagging of items, and can even be used to implement an advertising strategy for the display of matching items. For example, when a user choose a Brand A faucet, the CADseek API can automatically choose the most similar Brand B, C and D models.
